More than one million heavily discounted airfares for flights across Australia are up for grabs with Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar from today as the group launches the biggest combined flights sale of the year.

One-way fares starting from just $35 on Jetstar and $99 on Qantas and QantasLink are now available for travel across Australia next year, helping Australians plan ahead for their 2023 holidays.

The sale comes as Qantas reports that it is surging back to profit with a forecast underlying profit before tax for the first half of 2023 of $1.2b

The seat sale will be welcomed by long-suffering passengers who have been paying sky-high fares.

Between the three airlines, the sale spans 67 destinations around Australia including capital cities and regional towns from Perth and Port Macquarie to Hobart and Hamilton Island.

Qantas Group chief executive Alan Joyce said the sale would allow customers to take advantage of great fares on Qantas as a premium carrier and Jetstar as the low-cost leader to lock in trips in 2023.

“We have the biggest network of any airline in Australia and, between Qantas and Jetstar, there are some great value-for-money fares on offer.

“More than a quarter of the sale fares are under $200 for Qantas and 70 per cent of Jetstar sale fares are under $100. That leaves more money to spend on activities, which in turn supports tourism and small business operators across Australia, so it’s a win for both travellers and Australian tourism.

“Lots of the Jetstar fares are less than the cost of a taxi to the airport, while the Qantas fares come with checked baggage, complimentary food and beverages, free Wi-Fi and seat selection are great value for those who can plan ahead.”

Qantas Frequent Flyers can access millions of reward seats across domestic and international flights, with the airline recently extending its commitment of up to 50 per cent more Classic Reward seat availability until 30 June 2023.
