In a significant statement of intent and another vote of confidence for the Boeing 737 MAX Miami-based 777 Partners has ordered thirty Boeing 737-8-200 airplanes with deliveries commencing in 2024. The order takes 777 Partners' firm commitments to a total of 68. "We're delighted to be able to announce the almost doubling in size of our order with Boeing,” said Josh Wander, Managing Partner of 777 Partners. “We have long been confident in the economics of the 737 MAX family but we are especially excited about the 737-8-200 variant which represents the bulk of our additional orders. We're confident that this aircraft will be the hallmark ULCC/LCC asset, particularly in the sub-200 seat market. As travel demand returns, 777 has accelerated our quest for efficiencies in both operating cost and carbon footprint at our operating carriers. In these areas the 737-8 is compelling and the 737-8-200 is simply unrivaled.” READ: MH370: The extraordinary debris trail across the Indian Ocean  READ: MH370: chronology of major events  READ: Qatar Airways award-winning Qsuites the ultimate in privacy 777 Partners is expanding its investment portfolio in the most efficient aircraft available in support of its two airline partners, Flair in Canada and Bonza in Australia. Both airlines are changing market dynamics for the better in two countries where domestic air travel costs are among the highest of all developed economies. "We've seen the effect of cozy duopolies on market dynamics all too plainly,” said "Mr. Wander. “Countries without an independent low-cost airline, which is not beholden to a legacy parent group, are always towards the top of the travel cost index.  Even the announcement of market entry by Bonza has seen subsequent responses from the incumbents launching services on routes that they've never touched in the past." Travel options increase and travel prices sharply decrease when there's additional, independent competition in a market. To make that sustainable in the face of established competition, challenger airlines need the most efficient aircraft available. With the -8 and particularly the -8-200, we're giving our partners the very best opportunity to change markets for good."
