Korean Air has officially introduced its refreshed corporate identity, featuring a modern take on its iconic Taegeuk symbol. The unveiling took place at the airline’s headquarters hangar in Seoul during an exclusive event, Rising Night, attended by approximately 1,000 guests, including employees, industry leaders, and media representatives.
A Contemporary Take on Tradition
The newly redesigned deep blue Taegeuk symbol reflects Korean Air’s rich heritage while embracing a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The updated branding aligns with global minimalist design trends while preserving the airline’s distinct identity.
Accompanying the symbol, the refreshed “KOREAN AIR” logotype presents a refined and sophisticated look. Subtle brushstroke-inspired elements, smooth curves, and open connections create a modern interpretation of Korean elegance, reinforcing the airline’s national prestige.

New Aircraft Livery & First Look at Prestige Suites 2.0
A major highlight of the event was the reveal of Korean Air’s new aircraft livery. As the curtain lifted, a Boeing 787-10 featuring the fresh design was introduced. Registered as HL8515, the aircraft showcases the airline’s latest Prestige Suites 2.0 cabin interiors and is scheduled to enter service on March 12, operating between Seoul Incheon and Tokyo Narita.

The updated livery features a bold “KOREAN” logotype, symbolizing the airline’s confidence as South Korea’s flagship carrier. With an enlarged logo and symbol for greater visual impact, the design maintains balance while incorporating a newly developed metallic-effect paint to enhance the airline’s premium image. The traditional cheatline has been replaced by a fluid, sweeping curve across the fuselage, giving the aircraft a sleek, modern look.
Chairman Walter Cho’s Vision for the Future
During the event, Walter Cho, Chairman and CEO of Hanjin Group and Korean Air, outlined the airline’s commitment to innovation and global connectivity.
"As a unified Korean Air, we are dedicated to more than just transportation—we strive to connect people, cultures, and the world through the skies. Our focus is on building an industry-leading safety system, enhancing customer experience, and fostering open communication with all stakeholders. Together, we will create a more connected and better world," he said.
With the ongoing integration of Asiana Airlines, Cho emphasized Korean Air’s growing role as South Korea’s flagship carrier. "By combining expertise, refining our strengths, and bridging cultures, we aim to create an airline experience that is truly unparalleled."
A New Standard in Inflight Dining and Comfort
Earlier in the day, Korean Air introduced its upgraded inflight dining and service offerings at the Grand Hyatt Incheon. Designed to complement the airline’s new identity, these enhancements promise a more refined premium travel experience.

Premium-class dining now includes an expanded selection of amuse-bouche, appetizers, and elegant main courses such as Papillote and Petit Four, enhancing both taste and visual presentation. Signature Korean dishes, including octopus nurungji rice, beef brisket bibimbap, abalone rice, and royal hot pot (Shinseollo), celebrate the country’s rich culinary heritage.

Economy-class passengers will also enjoy an expanded menu, with new options like salmon bibimbap, spicy stir-fried octopus with pork, tofu pad thai, spicy eggplant stir-fry, and rosé pasta.
To further elevate the onboard experience, Korean Air has partnered with luxury brands for premium tableware. First-class passengers will dine on Bernardaud china with Christofle cutlery and Riedel glassware, while Prestige Class will feature Armani/Casa dishware and glassware.
For added comfort, first-class bedding will include Frette linens and an Air Coil mattress from Eco World, with Frette loungewear provided for a more relaxing journey.

Global Rollout Begins March 12
The enhanced inflight dining and service experience will launch on March 12 across 10 major long-haul routes, including flights to New York, Paris, and London. By June, these upgrades will be available on all long-haul routes, followed by an expansion to medium- and short-haul flights starting in September.
With its new branding, refined service offerings, and continued commitment to innovation, Korean Air is setting the stage for a new era of premium air travel.
