Thai Smile winds back operations

Thai Airways low cost subsidiary, Thai Smile, is set to gradually wind down its operations in preparation for a merger with its parent airline in early 2024.
In 2022, Thai Smile operated a network of 16 destinations in Thailand and 14 regional destinations in Asia using A320 aircraft.
On September 5, 2023, Thai Airways International announced the takeover of nine domestic routes previously operated by its low-cost subsidiary, Thai Smile, for the winter flight schedule spanning from October 2023 to March 2024.

Departing from its hub at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thai Airways International (THAI) will provide service to Krabi (KBV), Khon Kaen (KKC), Phuket (HKT), Narathiwat (NAW), Chiang Mai (CNX), Chiang Rai (CEI), Hat Yai (HDY), Udon Thani (UTH), and Ubon Ratchathani (UBP) using A320 aircraft.
Among these nine routes, Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Phuket were previously served by both THAI and Thai Smile.
Here is the schedule for 2023 and 2024:
2023:
- Bangkok-Chiang Mai: Five daily flights, starting from October 29, 2023.
- Bangkok-Phuket: Eight daily flights, starting from December 1, 2023.
- Bangkok-Udon Thani: Three daily flights, starting from December 1, 2023.
2024:
- Bangkok-Krabi: Two daily flights, starting from January 1, 2024.
- Bangkok-Khon Kaen: Four daily flights, starting from January 1, 2024.
- Bangkok-Narathiwat: One daily flight, starting from January 1, 2024.
- Bangkok-Chiang Rai: Two daily flights, starting from January 1, 2024.
- Bangkok-Hat Yai: Three daily flights, starting from January 1, 2024.
- Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani: Two daily flights, starting from January 1, 2024.
