Here are the results from our recent survey on the hotly debated topic of seat recline in economy class.

We asked our readers: "Should economy passengers be able to recline their seats? Yes? No? Only after meals? Only at night?

Here are the results from 437 participants:

  • Anytime - their seat, their choice: 63 votes (14.4%)
  • Never - seats should be partially reclined and go no further: 168 votes (38.4%)
  • Only after meal service: 50 votes (11.4%)
  • Only at night and after the meal service: 156 votes (35.7%)

These results highlight the diverse opinions on seat reclining etiquette among economy passengers. While a small percentage believe passengers should be free to recline their seats at any time, a significant portion advocates for more restricted or considerate reclining practices.

The majority think seats should either be partially reclined and not go further or should only be reclined after meal service and at night.
