An Air Niugini Boeing 737 has crashed into the ocean short of the runway in Micronesia and sunk. The 737 was approaching runway 04 in heavy rain when it hit the water short of the runway. PNG's Accident Investigation Commission is preparing a team to travel to the crash site just off the island of Weno. https://www.facebook.com/ABCNews/videos/507074523037857/?t=60 The airport manager Jimmy Emilio told Pacific Daily News media that the 737 undershot the landing at around 9:30am local time, ending up around 160mts from the runway. Flight PX073 was operating from Pohnpei in Micronesia and was due to continue to Port Moresby. The aircraft registered P2-PXE and was delivered 13 years ago.
