The new British Airways Club lounge is now open at New York’s JFK airport, completing a £52 million ($US67.8m) investment that included a First lounge opened in 2018 and changes to public areas and gate spaces.
The JFK lounge is BA’s flagship facility in the US and caters to premium customers on the airline’s 12 flights between New York and London each day.
Spread across 22,000 sq. ft., the new space includes elegant, relaxed seating areas as well as ample work stations with power outlets to maximize time in the office.

Passengers can relax in a state-of-the-art entertainment room, enjoy a spa or those wanting to sleep on the flight can take advantage of a brasserie-style dining room featuring freshly prepared dishes from an extensive menu or a range of “grab and go” smaller items.
There will be a granite-topped Quaich Bar, created in partnership with world-renowned Quaich Bar at the Craigellachie Hotel in Speyside, Scotland.
The airline promises an experienced bartender will be on-hand at peak times to serve a full range of fine wines and cocktails, including the "Broadway Copper Cup" made with Copper Dog whisky, orange bitters and berries.

An innovative new addition to the lounge is a BrewDog craft beer room with the specifically-brewed Speedbird 100, now also available on flights.
“JFK airport is like a second home to Heathrow so it’s great to mark the final step in our significant customer investment with the opening of our new Club and First lounges,’’ said British Airways brand and customer experience director Carolina Martinoli.
“Every detail has been carefully designed and we’ve created a space to meet our customers’ needs – whether they want to relax and have a meal or enjoy a craft beer and catch up on the world news.”
This is the third lounge to feature the contemporary design and comes after lounge openings in Rome, Italy and Aberdeen, Scotland in 2018.
It is part of a five-year £6.5 billion customer investment program that is also seeing changes to the airline’s First, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller cabin.
The First lounge at JFK opened in October 2018 after a complete renovation. It offers an opulent bar, bespoke zones to provide different seating areas, a boutique pre-flight dining service and a state-of-the-art wine room with an "enomatic" dispenser so that each glass of wine is served at exactly the right temperature and oxidized to the precise level.
