A startling video has captured the tense moment when an Airasia plane filled with smoke, causing panic among passengers, following the explosion of a portable battery charger during a flight in Thailand.

The incident unfolded aboard AirAsia Flight FD188, which was en route from Bangkok to Nakhon Si Thammarat, a city in Thailand. According to reports from Viral Press, approximately 30 minutes after takeoff, the portable battery charger exploded, engulfing the Airbus A320 with thick smoke, prompting a swift response from the flight crew.

Footage from the scene reveals flight attendants swiftly moving to tackle the flames in row 15 while passengers hurriedly sought safety measures.

Sayan Srimai, the individual who filmed the video, recounted the chaotic scene, describing how the entire plane was gripped by a sense of alarm. Srimai explained to Viral Press, "We had been sitting for about 30 minutes when suddenly there was a fire burning and smoke rising in the middle of the plane. Passengers were extremely shocked. The crew were excellent and it only took them two minutes to put out the fire."

In the video footage, passengers can be observed hastily moving away from the origin of the smoke and flames, some clutching their children and belongings tightly. Fortunately, the plane managed to land safely, and there were no reported injuries.

Upon inspection by technicians, black burn marks were discovered on one of the seats, underscoring the intensity of the incident.
