Vietjet, Vietnam’s low-fare airline, is set to confirm flights to Perth from Ho Chi Minh City providing a direct link to one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in Asia.
The airline, one of the fastest growing in Asia, operate flights to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and has been expected to add Perth for some time.
Vietjet will operate twice a week with 230-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft from Ho Chi Minh City starting on November 21.
The flight VJ080 departs Perth at 11.20 pm and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 05.05 am on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The return flight departs at 13.35 pm and arrives in Perth at 9.20 pm.
The service will offer a very attractive alternative to Bali for West Australians as the airline is known for its airfare sales.
In July Vietjet announced an increase in the frequency of direct flights to and from Australia from 20 to 34 flights per week from December 2023.
That includes daily return flights for the Ho Chi Minh City – Melbourne and Ho Chi Minh City – Sydney routes, while the Ho Chi Minh City – Brisbane route will increase to 3 return flights per week.
The award-winning airline operates a young fleet of 84 aircraft and has another 323 on order.
Vietjet serves 59 destinations and has a perfect safety record with a seven-star rating from AirlineRatings.com.
The airline offers passengers three service levels – economy, deluxe and business.
More details are expected shortly.

Airlineratings.com was developed to provide everyone in the world with a one-stop shop for everything related to airlines, formed by a team of aviation editors, who have forensically researched nearly every airline in the world.
Our rating system is rated from one to seven stars on safety – with seven being the highest ranking. Within each airline, you will find the country of origin, airline code, booking URL and seat map information. The rating system takes into account a number of different factors related to audits from aviation’s governing bodies, lead associations as well as the airline’s own safety data. Every airline has a safety rating breakdown so you can see exactly how they rate.
Over 230 of the airlines on the site that carry 99 per cent of the world’s passengers have a product rating. Given that low-cost, regional and full-service carriers are so different we have constructed a different rating system for each which can be found within each airline.
