AirlineRatings.com Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas has appeared on Channel 9 News to discuss the new Qantas Perth to Paris nonstop flight.

QF33 took off at 7.53 pm local time on Friday, July 12 and is due to land in the French capital ahead of schedule at 5.45 am – 55 minutes early.

Supported by the WA Government, the scheduled 17-hour Qantas flight will operate four days per week throughout the European summer and the Paris Olympics and will continue year-round, three times per week from mid-August 2024 on Boeing 787 aircraft.

The new Qantas non-stop link will add more than 75,000 additional seats between Europe and Perth each year – including around 37,500 inbound passengers to WA per year – and will cut more than three hours off the current fastest travel time between Paris and Perth.

The route will also provide seamless connections with more than 70 other destinations, including Athens, Barcelona and Frankfurt, boosting tourism opportunities across the continent.

About AirlineRatings.com

Airlineratings.com was developed to provide everyone in the world a one-stop shop for everything related to airlines, formed by a team of aviation editors, who have forensically researched nearly every airline in the world.

Our rating system is rated from one to seven stars on safety – with seven being the highest ranking. Within each airline, you will find the country of origin, airline code, booking URL and seat map information. The rating system takes into account a number of different factors related to audits from aviation’s governing bodies, lead associations, as well as the airlines, own safety data. Every airline has a safety rating breakdown so you can see exactly how they rate.

Over 230 of the airlines on the site that carry 99 per cent of the world’s passengers have a product rating. Given that low-cost, regional and full-service carriers are so different we have constructed a different rating system for each which can be found within each airline.
