Appalling service from easyJet. My flight from Edinburgh to Gatwick was schedulled at 21:15, giving me ample time to catch the last train at 23:30 to Reading. However, the flight was delayed for 1 hour and 55 minutes, which means I arrived at Gatwick post-midnight, missing all trains to Reading. Prior to flying, I explained the situation to easyJet staff in Edinburgh, asking them to either book me on tomorrow's flight and pay for my overnight stay in Edinburgh or pay for a taxi from Gatwick to Reading. First, they tried to dodge me by lying to me that staff in Gatwick would take care of the issue. Then they admitted that no staff would be in Gatwick at the time of arrival and I should pay for my taxi and try to claim it back, although, as they admitted, Easyjet wouldn't pay. In addition, they wouldn't book me on tomorrow's flight, as my flight wasn't technically cancelled and they were "fulfilling their contractual obligation", because their delay was less than 2 hours. Awful staff, awful service, awful airline company. Never again.
