Booked a flight from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls and called to verify the day before. When we arrived at the airport, we found out that they had rescheduled the flight for an hour earlier without notification. Thankfully we were there in time to make the flight. They also decided to re-route the flight through Bulawayo instead of the direct flight we purchased. We had to get off of the plane, go through customs, collect and re-check our bags, and board the same plane where new customers had arrived for the Bulawayo-Vic Falls route. That caused me (a US citizen) to incur extra visa costs as the uniVisa I had planned on getting for Zimbabwe and Zambia is not available in Bulawayo. When we asked for information about the change in flights, whether we would go through Bulawayo or directly to Vic Falls, we received differing information from two Air Zim staff who were standing right beside each other. Of course, on our return trip we were once again re-routed through Bulawayo, tacking on 2 hours to our estimated arrival time in Joburg. Finally, Air Zim is the only airline at Vic Falls airport that does not include aiport tax in their tickets... extra $50 to leave the country!
