SAS review by paola 2015-06-30

I had to fly with SAS with my dog twice last christmas, a 3 hours flight from Helsinki to Milan and back turned into an horrible experience. First of all you're not allowed any cabin baggage when traveling with a pet in the cabin, but still you pay an extra 66 EUR to carry your pet. The dog kennel has to meet certain requirements, but apparently the seat under which you are supposed to put it doesn't! My chihuahua-like dog (4.5 Kilos, not that big!) couldn't stand in the very limited place squeezed under the seat, and the staff didn't allow me to place the kennel on a free seats line close to me. Customer care to book the dog ticket usually made me wait in line for 3 hours and a half before answering.. In addition to that after paying 200 euros for a ticket, the only free beverages they offer is coffee, tea and water. The checked baggage handling is really poor too, my suitcase was all wet and full of dirty woodchips when it was returned.
