Was running late, but still got to ticketing 45 minutes before flight. Had already checked in successfully the day prior. One very unprofessional ticket agent would not issue boarding passes. Had 3 additional people waiting standby that I later learned were AirBaltic employees looking for a free ride. Ticket Agent left all of us and never returned. After searching for another AirBaltic agent and panicking for an hour, another agent finally showed up and issued boarding passes. We were rushed through security by Gatwick Airport personnel (they were fantastic). Luckily our flight was running on Eastern European time...1 1/2 hours late, but was never told by the airline, which would have alleviated a lot of stress. No reason or apology was ever given to me as to why they initially would not issue boarding passes...why the ticket agent left...why I was never told the flight was running late. I was still under stress not knowing if we would make our AirBaltic connecting flight in Latvia. Luckily they were running over an hour late as well...but was never told by anyone from AirBaltic.
