Incredibly shocking customer service when things go wrong. Our flight to Florida from St. John's was cancelled 4 hours prior to departure. We were rebooked on a new flight scheduled to leave 2 days later. Of course, this created huge headaches for cancelled hotels and car bookings... none of which would offer refunds due to me cancelling the day off. The flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. I spent hours on the phone waiting to speak with various agents (each time with wait times up to 30 minutes)... to no avail. Westjet offered me absolutely no recourse and essentially took the attitude that these things happen... too bad. As I write this review, I am already $1,100 out for cancelled hotels and cars, plus I have lost 2 days of a 7 day vacation... I am not sure how you value that. Unfortunately for Westjet... they failed at the passengers time of greatest need. If you even want to feel alone, frustrated and helpless... try being a stranded Westjet passenger... where you are truly just a number...
