We booked Norweigan Stockholm-Palma, but they put us on an old Trade Air aircraft (some leasing agreement we were not aware of when booking). Crew spoke no english and had basically 0 communication with us. As someone who struggles with fear of flying, it was a nightmare.

I wish I could give zero stars. I booked a flight with Norwegian to travel on the 22nd of December, but it was canceled, completely ruining my travel plans. Instead of rerouting me on the next available flight as required by EU Regulation 261/2004, they only offered a rebooking for the 24th—far too late to spend Christmas as planned. To make matters worse, they refused to book me on another airline, despite it being their legal obligation. I was forced to pay €380 for a new one-way ticket—a significant and unreasonable expense, especially at such short notice. Adding to the stress, they said they might refund it but provided no guarantee of a refund of this new flight, making it extremely distressing to pay such a large amount without certainty. This airline clearly prioritises cutting costs over treating their customers with fairness or respect. Avoid them if you value your time, money, and peace of mind!

The plane itself (787) was great, but the rest was disappointing. While the flight over had some redeeming qualities, the flight back -rather the whole process- was a nightmare. Everyone is angry. My seven-year-old daughter even commented that we should have flown Delta. We arrived nearly four hours early and waited in line for about three of those hours. The check-in process was a complete disaster. It was disorganized and completely unfair. We waited as gate agents allowed-even directed others to break in front of us. Yes, we realize there were three flights the gate crew was dealing with (NY, FLA, and DC), yet we should not be punished for the lateness of others. For every two Florida flights checked-in, they should have moved a DC guest through. Instead, they held all DC passengers until all New York and then Florida passengers were done -even those arriving mins before boarding. That is poor managements and all on Norse. There was not one single person in the DC line happy with this experience -I expect them to get more complaints.

At airport awaiting my third Norwegian flight in 10 days. First one delayed by one hour fifty minutes, second one by one hour and just been notified that next flight delayed by 50 minutes. Which will probably mean that we miss our connecting flight. For each of the flights the boarding gates have been changed. The first time this happened we were actually queuing to board. Overall, a very frustrating experience and very poor customer service. Think long and hard before you book with this airline.

The customer service at Norwegian Airlines is terrible. I was overcharged for an in-flight purchase. They do not offer any customer service over the phone, so I was asked to fill out a contact form. Which I did. It took four weeks to get a reply (despite repeated follow-ups), which basically stated: tough luck, we won't help you. I am grateful that I only had a minor problem. I would hate to have to deal with this airline for anything major, like missing or damaged luggage, cancelled or delayed flights, or any reimbursements of any kind.

Part of my checked luggage was stolen (probably by an airport employee) during my flight from Tromso to Oslo. Norwegian Airlines just flat refused to refund me, saying that my checked luggage wasn't packed as advised on their website, which is wrong : I did follow their guidelines, so their excuse to not refund me is just plain bullshit so they, a multimillion dollar company, can save some euros at the expense of one of their clients. In the future I'll choose SAS or another company to travel across Scandinavia as I don't want to lose an extra 200 euros when I'm traveling.

All I can comment on is the booking and cancellation process. PLEASE BEWARE OF THEIR POLICIES AS THEY AND DESIGNED TO KEEP YOUR MONEY. I booked two sets of tickets; one leaving the US in June and the second coming back from Paris in Sept. Due to my travel plans through Europe, they could not be booked on same itinerary. Norwegian cancelled my first flight without notifying me of said cancellation until the week before the travel date. Once I saw the cancellation, I looked at my return ticket and all flights out of Paris to Denver had been deleted from their schedule all the way into 2021. -- they told me that since they had not given my notice of cancellation (even though on their website 100% of the flights had been cancelled), that i did not follow the fare rules of the low fare. Sketchy policy and I will definitely not allow any of my employees or friends travel this airline.

Norwegian airlines website is as clear as mud, and, I believe, purposefully so. I spent over an hour trying to get an answer to my question about canceling my ticket in June with no avail. Given the current pandemic, you'd think this policy and procedure would be on full display, as it is on American Airlines (I merely had to follow prompts and click a button to cancel that flight). I finally found some partial information that I thought I understood. It stated I can cancel and make a claim for points or reimbursement, or at least that was my understanding. Turns out when I canceled it, I lost everything because it didn't qualify and they had not canceled the flight. I called to see if I had any recourse and they were rude and non-helpful. If their website was clear, this would not have happened. If their policy was fair, this would not have happened. I will never fly Norwegian again and I suggest if you want to be assured of a fair deal if something goes wrong, that you don't either.

NORWEGIAN AIR SHUTTL OSL/OAK Flight 7063 on 10/15/2019. The flight was booked for a price of $803.51 round trip total for myself and my companion. For each leg, we were provided an opportunity to "Bid for an upgrade." For each leg, I intended to bid 10% additional (about $40 in each case). I found the process confusing, but did my best. I was shocked to open my credit card statement and find that I was billed a total of $1834.50 for the trip, which is a 128% increase in the fare as opposed to my intended 10% increase. I contacted Norwegian Air and was refused any adjustment even when I offered to settle for what the average person pays for the upgrade. In the end, this confusing upgrade process and refusal to provide a reasonable settlement appears to be a corporate strategy to enhance the bottom line with no regard for customer satisfaction.

I will never book with Norwegian again! I booked a flight and after a few days I received a no-reply email informing me they they would have used DAT airline. Now just check on youtube what DAT is all about. It is scary. They fly with 30 years old aircrafts. But the nightmare was to contact them. It was impossible. After many tries via phone, chat and email I received an answer....I could not be refunded. I will have to buy another ticket with another airline in order to not panic. What a terrible experience

Absolutely horrible customer service. My wife has an immunodeficiency disease and cannot travel given the current COVID-19 situation (her doctor strongly discouraged her from flying out of JFK, not to mention flying to Europe). In spite of this, Norwegian is unwilling to offer any sort of refund, travel voucher, or change fee waiver (their change fees are $600, almost the cost of the tickets). They are too greedy to deserve anyone's business, and I certainly won't be flying with them again.

Was a good airline, but things seem to be going downhill... Customer service is effectively non-existant - contracted out to some couldn't-care-less outfit somewhere in the less developed world. Didn't used to be like this. You need to be aware that if anything changes with your booking, or there is a problem with the flight then you'll be left "up the creek without a paddle" - there will be no, repeat no assistance from Norwegian or their staff. Refunds of compensation - forget it. Policy is to ignore you for several months before possibly and very reluctantly doing the very least they can get away with. Be aware of this before you book - there's a reason the fares are cheap... You get what you pay for.

HORRIBLE. Norwegian changed the time of my flight so it lands at 11:10PM which makes it too late to check in to my hotel. I call them immediately, they check for other flights, can't find any so basically tell me there is nothing they can do unless I want to cancel the trip. It's despicable. THEY changed the flight and now I have to eat the 150 euro I paid for the hotel and sleep in the airport or pay for another hotel with a late check-in. They won't even put me up for the night because the delay doesn't make it a new day. How scummy is that. I also flew with them last October, they give no food even for long overnight flights without an additional fee. My headrest was broken and they did nothing to fix it so I was uncomfortable for 8 hours. I should have known better than to book with them again. Whatever you do DO NOT FLY NORWEGIAN.

We were not aware that our future flight for 20 October 2019 was cancelled and refunded. We thought the process had gone through for our 11 October flight to be refunded as discussed on the phone and in person at the terminal. I had no means to access my bank account to verify which flight was being refunded as I was traveling overseas and had limited access to an internet connection. Due to this error, we were stranded at London Gatwick Airport for our returning flight on the 20th of October and had to pay for a separate last minute ticket the following day through another airline which incurred a hotel room and transportation costs to the other airport (London City Airport). This caused a huge strain on us as we had to incur a very heavy cost on this error

Our party of five checked in thru automated machine at LAX. As we entered the boarding process, we got picked by the airline staff and checked our luggage and told us we are 17 kg over weight. They could offer options generously but they were bluntly gave us two choices. 1. over charge two luggage or 17kg which was $250 vs. $275. Most passengers focus on sizes rather than weight due to lack of measuring tools. Their staff used very inaccurate scales which varies +/- 25%. It was not the penalty but their ludeness and even another guy looks like her boss made same comments and forced us to pay and told us if we don't pay flight can be delayed or we can't fly. So I recommend check in in person which I don't know they are better than boarding staff at the gate.

This is the worst airline our family has had the unfortunate experience with. Our family experienced two of the worst experiences of all airline travel. Our daughter was relocating to Australia from NY and when arriving in NYC waited in a line for close to an hour to be served and then was told she couldn’t board her International flight due to the flight schedule even though the plane was delayed over another hour. She was left abandoned in the airport overnight and forced to book another flight at her own expense. My husband and I were flying from NYC to Copenhagen over the summer and they only allow 40 pounds on international bags where all other airlines allow 70 pounds. Our bag was over 2 pounds the the service representative wouldn’t allow us to remove luggage and wanted to charge $200.00 for the overage. When we refused, she made us stand in the same line again for an hour. When we returned to the front, another attendant charged us $100.00 bag fee and no overage. When we boarded, we were charged for everything unless you paid in advance. This company is the epitome of the worst service.

I had a carryon bag and a backpack. My carryon bag contained my CPAP machine, my backpack the urn with my Mother's ashes. When checking in my bag a very rude Norwegian representative told me I am entitled to only 20kg instead of the 50 lbs I paid for and made me transfer 4 lbs of items to my carryon. Randomly selected to weigh my bags at gate. My carryon was 18 kg, my backpack 8 kg. The Norwegian representative was again extremely rude, didn't listen and didn't care about any of my explanations! She made me pay 80 GBP and forced me to check-in my carryon. My carryon contained my CPAP machine (about 6kg), which is medical equipment and checking it in is illegal. I am entitled to carry it as a separate carryon item. The Norwegian representative was so bound to take the 80 GBP that she didn't care. All of the Norwegian representatives at the gate were rude, unsympathetic to my grief and simply after the money. I noticed many people with obviously bigger and heavier bags than mine who weren't picked on.

We called the airline’s booking agent to see how to reserve a bassinet and were told to book two premium seats. We booked it on line and called back to request the bassinet but we were told that we were misinformed. Not only could we not get the bassinet but the child would not be allowed to be with the grandparents in the premium seats. We rebooked to economy to sit with our grandchild and her parents. Now we get a text that states the type of plane was changed to a smaller plane and we are no longer seating together. We called up and were disconnected while on hold. We decide to write customer service. However, the customer service online site after 20 minutes stated to click OK to continue or you would be dcd. I clicked twice and nothing happened and could not send a complaint. The Norwegian Airline site had been down 3 of the 7 times we tried to book or choose seats. Their phone center is always backed up by more than an hour. What kind of airline can’t accommodate travelers with infants or have a reliable customer service phone and/or online site?

Norwegian’s callous indifference to customer service: • (2)x $1000 r/t tickets, MCO-Copenhagen. Flights, seats, meals booked/protected well in advance • At day-before-departure check-in, discovered that Norwegian had changed our plane and seats to a significantly less-preferred location, WITH NO NOTICE. • Next day at MCO Departures gate, 2-each small checked/carry-on bags were each over/under weight by a few TENTHS of a kilo. Agent forced us to create a humiliating “yard sale” re-pack in lobby of all 4 bags, so they were all of even weight. I think they all go to the same place, yes? • As directed, we got to the Departures gate 1.5hrs early, to discover just before scheduled departure that the plane would be delayed. We sat there for almost THREE MORE HOURS before departure. • In the cross-Atlantic flight there was no attempt to make up time. With just a little, we would not have missed our connection at Gatwick, and not lost a day of vacation. Norwegian committed to a refund in writing, on-line. Then after 2 months “credited $180”. They shared that "If I wanted to elevate our issue, I could through various travel arbitration organizations THAT NORWEGIAN DOESN’T PARTICIPATE WITH.” Norwegian does not care about customer service.

Fly with ANYTHING ELSE. I’d rather fly with cargo plane full of livestock than ever fly with these SCAMMERS again! First of all their EVERY flight is delayed, which is part of the scam. Their allowed specifications for carriable items are way lower than other airlines and they bet on people not noticing so that they can force people to check in their luggage for $100. They weigh and measure the dimensions (who does that??) of EVERY carry-on and personal items, so there are countless people in check-in kiosks arguing with them because their carry-ons are 0.5kg’s over thr limit. This makes the lines longer and THEY DON’T LET PEOPLE TAKE ANY ITEMS OUT WITHOUT FORCING THEM TO GET BACK IN THE LINE. Which is the essense of their scummy business model. You’re either forced pay the extra money, or you have to reenter the 1 hour line because they wouldn’t let you take out a t-shirt. Avoid like the plague, don’t give your hard earned cash to these thieves.

I will definitely not recommend anyone to travel with this airline. For example, their price might be cheap but their hidden fees is crazy. They even charge $100 for handbag even if it's half pound over their requirements. For 8 hours flight, they don't even provide a cup of water, you have to buy everything you need; therefore, by the time you finish with them you end up paying more than any other airline out there. The customer service is excessively horrible, their employees are not helpful at all. The list goes on. I recommend a more pricey flight with better customer service.

Top tip: Don't fly Norwegian Air - they are cheaper for a reason. Purchased "Hand luggage only" ticket from MCO-->LGW. Alas, I forgot to weigh hand luggage. 3kg over. Almost empty flight but I had to check in hand luggage at cost of US$ 140. I asked if I could just throw out some books to make the weight, but told no repacking allowed at gate. Just a little bit too cold to get to sleep on plane, but jumper in ..... hand luggage that I was forced to check in. Norwegian supplies blankets, but they charge for them. Got to Gatwick about 1.5 hours late. I would just have caught the bus I was booked onto, but of course I had to wait for the hand luggage I had to check in. I have no problem with budget airlines charging for the cost of each item. However US$ 140 vastly exceeds the cost of checking in one small carry on suitcase. Norwegian are rapaciously preying on the unwary. Looks like Norwegian are the long haul equivalent of Ryan Air. My first and hopefully last time flying Norwegian. The angriest I have been while flying for about 30 years.

The attendant Andrei was very unresponsive and difficult in helping me with organizing a flight that was delayed by 3+ hours and after I insisted (friendly-like, but firm) he simply told me: "Go away" and proceeded to tell his colleague that I was simply some stupid Russian. When I walked back and spoke with Andrei's manager, She proceeded to call security instead of speaking with me. Not only is this an extremely rude and dangerous attitude (to use security officers as customer relations) but I was placed in an impossible position with law enforcement in Norway, my host country. LOST LUGGAGE: So we arrive to the airport for our direct flight THREE HOURS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE plus a 40 min delay. Arriving to Gatwick airport everyones luggage arrives EXCEPT FOR MINE. It is so disheartening to not see your bag come off the conveyor. Especially on a Europe family holiday. Day 2 arrives and still no word on my bag for my direct flight. I received notice by the end of the day that they actually found it. So did they stuff it in a closet in O'Hare Chicago airport and the janitor locate it or what? Finally end of day 3 I receive my bag for my direct flight. UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF Next I would like to discuss their in flight staff. They were standing in the middle of the plane by the exit row as it has more space and carrying on incredibly loud social conversations almost the whole flight instead of attending to the passengers. It was as if they were at a pub and drinking at a table the way they carried on. High level of unprofessionalism!

T Terrible first time experience. You’re required to check in at the counter, which I didn’t know as a first time flyer, so standing in line for my ticket delayed my time through security. When I got to the gate, the airplane door was already shut. The flight attendants were empathetic and told me “Call customer service”. Customer service was rude and told me there was nothing I could do because I never checked in, when clearly I had my ticket in my hand. I even tried to speak to a supervisor but they were busy. I was given an office number and left multiple voicemails. TO this day no response. I sat by the ticket counter all night and the next morning, but no one showed up to help. I actually received more help from other airlines and the information desk than from Norwegian. I had to cancel my other flights in Europe and every other airline had quick customer service and refunded me within a week. Meanwhile my request for Norwegian to at least give me back my taxes has gone unanswered.

The premium cabin is their equivalent of business class. It’s right out of the 1970s. Nothing much to say except you get some extra leg room. Otherwise it’s the same as coach. But that’s not the reason for the rating. On the outbound leg, my carryon was no problem. Inbound, they made a big deal out of it and coerced me into checking my luggage. I fly a lot — with exactly the same stuff — and BA, American, United, Delta have simply never made an issue of my carryon which fits into overhead compartments with plenty of room to spare. OK, precisely because I fly a lot, consistency is important. I need to know that policies are applied by trained staff in the same ways regardless of airport. Showing up at checkin — no kiosks by the way — not knowing what will happen to my luggage just adds another needless and avoidable complication to business travel. I won’t be flying Norwegian again. No trust. ESPECIALLY when they refuse to disclose names to facilitate followup with management.

Person at checkin didn't mention anything about my bag being to big to carry on. As I'm walking through the gate to board they tell me I have to check my bag, and that it is going to be $85. This was a connecting flight, and had no issues with the first leg of it. This was my only bag, and most people in my travel group of 38 were able to check bags for free at checkin, which I would have done if someone had taken the time to check or explain the baggage to me. Their customer service person I've been dealing with since then took 3 weeks to reply and has essentially just blown me off. Would not recommend under any circumstances.

The flight was not only late with no announcement but also overbooked so badly that our hand luggage was taken to the hold. Which they did without asking for volunteers or warning in any way in advance. When I said I had a connection I would need to catch, the staff shrugged it off. Nor did they announce where in the destination airport our luggage would be available for pickup, or how long it would take. We had to go through the local info desks and wait - in addition to the flight having been late. Even with the delay, I should have had an hour until my connection, but I just barely made it with 5 minutes to spare at a light jog. I don't expect much when I fly with cheap airlines, but I do expect to get exactly what I paid for - how is it acceptable to sell more seats or storage than you actually have available?

Even after this review if you decide you have to fly with them DON'T PLAN on buying the food on the plane. Bring food with you. This is worst than American school cafeteria food and cost 100 times more. Second, you are crammed in the plane so tightly it could be illegal. Now for the bigger issue. This airline's gate agent singled us out as the only African Americans on the plane and made us pay a HUGE check-in fee without really checking the baggage, letting much bigger luggage on the plane and not checking with the flight crew to see if her assumptions were correct. When we got a response from the airline they confirmed that our bag was in compliance when they gave us the sizing requirements. Their final response.... Contact the FAA ..... NO I contacted my bank got my money back via a charge back complaint and am writing reviews EVERYWHERE.

Single-handedly, the worst: Treated with immense disrespect when trying to return from Paris after missing my flight due to our taxi driver being arrested en route to the CDG. Relented to paying for a change fee for a new flight after Airport Information let me use a phone to contact Norwegian NO customer service person existed even though there was 1.5hrs until my flight. I was also rebooked on a new flight to EWR rather than BOS and (Without agreeing to this flight) was told to sprint from CDG to Orly (another 100E) during rush hour to arrive at airport without staff; zero customer service present; no one knew that Norwegian even flew from Orly to EWR (how is Norwegian able to operate in Europe?!). Then charged again because the staff didn't help me get my new ticket or take my luggage so had to fly out the next day (hotel charge and another 180E back to Paris and back next day) for another horrendous return flight because Norwegian doesn’t even give water. We live in Spain; don't speak Spanish; weren't flying to/from Spain. A problem in the past but not this time with online system or phone contact. Everything went like clockwork from booking to baggage reclaim. The plane was in good condition, all staff were pleasant and helpful, and - wait for it - the food was frankly amazing!

First of all, Norwegian is a cheap airlines, and the cabin crew are used to treat everybody poorly. They don’t have a sense of what a good service is. Even If you pay extra so sit in the front row like I have been doing for the last three years. Do not expect to be treated well. They will treat you badly. Many times I tried to put my luggage over my seat and they disrespectly told me to move it all the way to the middle of the plane. I paid more than the other passengers that are sitting in the back. So why to move my luggage all the way there? And they speak with you very angry. They never say excuse, please or nothing. They start arguing with a bad attitude. You feel disrespected and awful. One time I accidentally brought snacks and one mini bottle of wine, as I was in Spain. I start eating and drinking before take off. So, this very impolite flight attendant bends to me and say to my face “Hey you cannot drink inside of the aircraft.” Ok that’s wrong of me, but I genuinely didn’t know about it. So, instead of politely asking me to handle the bottle to her, she then grabs it from my hands in a very harsh way. Who does that? I got angry and I told her out loud to not to touch me. The way she grabbed and pulled the bottle was in such violent way. She came to my face and said she would take me out of the plane with the police, because I told her to never ever touch a passenger like she touched me. First of all, it isn’t not allowed. Second of all, you are representing a company and the way you act tells all about how you were trained. This is an unacceptable behavior from her. You are not allowed to speak rude and aggressively with a passengers like that. Unless, there is a very erratic behavior that will cause harm. I was calm and willing to listen to her if she had spoke with me politely. I felt super nervous as I was violated. Not only that, I felt super sad and stressed after this episode. Well, Norwegian airlines does not have focus in training their employees with values. There is core in how to have manners, service minded and respectful to others. They just hire whoever and makes them be in the plane. Norwegian airlines focus is to charge a low cost ticket, fill up their planeas much as they can, and make sure passengers don’t be treated well. I’ve been patient flying with them for the last 3 years with so many episodes. But now I am switching to SAS airlines even though if there is not direct flight from Bergen to Malaga like Norwegian has. But I rather be all day at the airport, then to be treated badly inside of an aircraft. Please do not flight with Norwegian. They are also close to get bankrupt! I cross my fingers for that and I hope they disappear forever. As people should never be treated badly with no respect.

Terrible service from Norwegian. The most unhelpful, unfriendly, unknowledgeable collection of employees I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I left my wallet in the seatback pocket, which I realized just after I had cleared customs and could not go back in. I thought it would not be that big of a deal, because I knew the flight, the seat, and the item I wanted back, but it turns out nothing is easy when dealing with Norwegian. I went to the lost and found explained what happened, and they informed me I could email some generic email address and come back in 24-hours. I thought that was ridiculous as it was a just grabbing a wallet from a seatback, and the flight had just landed. I asked for a manager and she said the same thing because of a new policy they had implemented. It was like talking to a wall. I tried to explain that without my credit cards or ID there was not really much I could do. I pleaded with the woman to call up and see if somebody could grab it. No empathy or understanding at all, she just kept repeating that they have a new policy. I had to go online and Western Union myself cash just to have a few dollars to eat and plan out my next steps. I stayed in the airport overnight waiting for the stupid 24-hour period to go through so I could get my wallet back and was informed they did not recover anything. I was livid. So either their cleaning staff stole my wallet or they just did not notice it (from my experience dealing with their staff, I believe either is possible). So now I am in a really bad spot because their policy did not allow a simple radio/phone call up to their employees on the other side of security to grab a wallet form seat 5F. I cannot believe how callous everybody I have dealt with from Norweigian has been.
