The flight crew provided in-flight emergency medical care to the Australian passenger, who was born in 1954 and the captain then made the decision to divert the A330 to Darwin to ensure the passenger received immediate medical assistance.

Upon landing at Darwin airport at 18:30 local time, after a flight duration of 4 hours and 40 minutes, the passenger was promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The crew and airline staff collaborated with the airport and medical authorities to guarantee the passenger received the necessary care and attention.

The passenger’s condition stabilized after receiving timely medical assistance, and his family sent deep thanks to the crew.

After refuelling, the flight resumed its journey to Brisbane, landing at 21:55 local time.

The Vietjet captain told AirlineRatings.com “In my tens of thousands of flight hours as a captain, I am continually filled with emotions when my decision can provide timely support to passengers. My colleagues and I always strive to serve passengers to the best of our abilities and prioritize their safety and well-being.”

Our rating system is rated from one to seven stars on safety – with seven being the highest ranking. Within each airline, you will find the country of origin, airline code, booking URL and seat map information. The rating system takes into account a number of different factors related to audits from aviation’s governing bodies, lead associations as well as the airline’s own safety data. Every airline has a safety rating breakdown so you can see exactly how they rate.

Over 230 of the airlines on the site that carry 99 per cent of the world’s passengers have a product rating. Given that low-cost, regional and full-service carriers are so different we have constructed a different rating system for each which can be found within each airline.
