I flew to Kuala Lumpur in July via Turkish airlines. However, the military coup took place on the morning of our flight home. We were in thr airport in KL and all thr turkish airlines employees had gone home because of the coup. There was no one there to rebook us on another airlines. Also the 800 number was down. We had to buy our own one way tickets home on another airline which cost more than thr original tickets. When trying to reach them for a refund or reimbursement after I got home, I was given the run around, sent to different Turkish airlines employees, told to go to the sales office an hour from my house, and then the sales rep laughed in my face suggesting I should go back to KL to get a refund. We found out that basically some time during the night, a Turkish airlines employee in KL rebooked me on another flight home without informing me. Therefore they "could not give me a refund." But even if they had told me, they didnt rebook my husband and I wouldn't have left him there. I have noe obtained a lawyer to try to get my money back for this flight.
