Delta Air Lines review by Geoff 2017-07-09

Having arrived in LA after a 15 hour flight from flight from Australia I needed to catch a connecting flight to Phoenix in order to attend an international conference. Not being aware of the lay out of the airport I asked a Delta staff member which gate my flight was leaving from as the the gate number had not been printed on my boarding pass. The staff member directed to me gate 35. Upon presenting at gate 35 a horrified Delta staff member informed me that apparently as is Delta's customary practice the gate had been changed and my flight was now leaving from gate 21, some considerable distance from gate 35. Despite my best efforts (having a best time for 400m of 47 sec) I was unable to catch my connecting flight. No problem I thought, as I missed the flight as a result of being incorrectly advised by a Delta staff member the airline would do the right thing and arrange for me to take the next available flight. The unwillingness of the staff to assist over the ensuing 11 hours beggared belief. I ended up having to purchase a flight with another airline to get to my destination. Delta Airlines you have not heard the last of this.
