Flew from Sydney to Siem Reap and back. Trip to SR was a daytime flight (10am). After serving lunch the attendants disappear...and they turn all the lights off as if it is an overnight flight (!??!). My husband and I both asked separately (twice each) for a drink, but all times this was ignored with an abrupt "later!" "Later" never came. So, on an 8 hour daytime flight all we got was half a glass of water and some weak cold coffee. The trip home was worse still - screaming children with mothers that didn't care - I'm a grandmother, so I can certainly tell the difference between tired/upset and just plain naughty! The attendants must be deaf, as the mothers only quietened their children when another passenger had had enough and called out for them to control their children! Same situation again with any liquid refreshment. On both flights the seats were quite uncomfortable, and the planes were quite old and grubby. On the return journey the in flight entertainment system wasn't working either. It's the age old story...you get what you pay for. The tickets were cheap, but not that cheap. Next time I will pay a little more and go with a value added airline.
