JQ775 ADL-MEL Economy (single class flight) A320, plane into ADL from MEL delayed due to storms, then delayed till nearly curfew in ADL, then cancelled. Sitting in the QF lounge advised by QF staff to go to JQ check in to be rebooked, no staff. Not surprising none turned up, as they were at the departure gate. Rebook for 0620 dep the following morning and asked about accommodation to which recd the curt response "we dont do that" ask for the duty manager and when she finally arrived, simply waived a piece of paper in my face and said "we dont do accommodation, thats your problem" and handed me a "flight cancelled photocopy letter". Arrived next morning and the check in agent, moved us to our original exit row seats. Flight crew pleasant, nothing special about JQ its a point to point experience, just a step up from a bus trip really. Some staff are great other (mostly managers) woeful. Would I travel with them again - sure, do I expect much - No! Oh and according to friends in MEL - said storm had passed at least an hour before first flight delay! Go Figure.
